Darrell Alderman is a former American drag racer who was born on February 19, 1951, in Morehead, Kentucky. He is one of the most successful Pro Stock racers in the history of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Alderman began his drag racing career in the early 1970s and competed in his first NHRA race in 1979. He won his first Pro Stock race in 1986 and went on to win three NHRA championships in 1990, 1991, and 1994. Alderman retired from racing in 2004 with 29 NHRA national event wins and 34 NHRA national event runner-up finishes. He was also inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2005. After retiring from racing, Alderman became a television commentator for NHRA events and worked as a consultant for Dodge Motorsports.
